Loki and His Boy

My goal is to paint and create art to my heart's content, therefore I've never been able to settle on a specific style of artwork to focus my attention on. Each style brings with it something new and exciting to explore and learn.

My primary medium is oil on canvas, though with different styles may come different medium to experiment with. I've dabbled in inks, watercolors, digitial media, arcylic, and pastels but always find my way back to painting with oils, it is where I am most comfortable. Recently, I have begun to explore digital medium more through creating unique pieces or by creating comics. Comics add a unique challenge to creating art as it adds the written word to the image.

Pet portraits are a passion of mine, I started painting these as a way to immortalize and remember my own pets. As I started showing them to others they also wanted to have one of their pets. They have become memorial pieces for some and a great joy to paint and capture the spirit and energy of someone's loved one.

Bio:

I've been doing art from a young age, my art teacher in high school encouraged me to pick up painting and since that day I haven't stopped painting. My professional training is not in art, I got my bachelor's degree in geography which has helped fuel my passion for art and the desire to capture different places in the world in paint.

I am originally from southwest Florida, which is reflected in many pieces on display on my website. After college I moved to Texas for a year to do some volunteer work doing Hurricane Rita recovery work, some of the portraits that I did are from people devastated by that storm. I eventually ended up living in northern Colorado, which again feeds the artwork that I create. From beaches to mountains and everything in between my goal is to capture my life through art.
